AOL create 20 New Software Engineering Jobs

AOL are seeking a further 20 software engineers to join their Media Technology, Advertising Technology and Patch teams in Dublin. They are aiming to fill the posts as soon as possible and plan to begin interviews within the next couple of weeks. They had a strong response to their last recruitment drive in June and are confident they can find the right people with the skill set we need.

The new jobs are all high value experienced professional software engineering positions, suitable for candidates with Java qualifications. Opportunities are available for both senior and intermediately experienced recruits, with industry experience ranging between five to eight and two to four years respectively. Successful candidates will have excellent opportunities for travel within AOL’s global network of companies and enjoy highly attractive benefits as part of their packages.

AOL has been based in Dublin for the past 10 years and currently employs 133 people. Dublin is its development engine for Europe and works alongside its sister Development Centres in San Francisco, Dulles, New York, Bangalore and Frankfurt. The Company announced in June that it plans to move to a new headquarters in Dublin City Centre.

Business Objects owned by SAP creates 100 jobs in Dublin

Business Objects will create 100 new jobs in Dublin as a result of a EUR29m investment. Business Objects will establish a R&D center in Citywest in Dublin. SAP bought Business Objects in January of this year so new jobs will be located at SAP’s facility in West Dublin.

These high value positions will be created over the next 4 years he next four years and they will be focus on new generation of performance optimisation applications. Jobs created will be for graduates and experienced IT professionals. IT roles will include IT architects, Software testers and programmers. There will also be a recruitment drive for engineers with Java, Eclipse, XML languages.

Business Objects & SAP currently employ over 1000 staff in Dublin & Galway. Business Objects set up in Dublin in 2004 and employs 200 of the 1000 staff.
This is some positive news for the government as these are they type of high-end jobs they have promised to deliver.
