General Manager required for manufacturing facility in Shannon.

I posted earlier in the week about the news that Zimmer were opening a new manufacturing facility in Shannon. I noticed this morning in the Irish Times (p15) that they are recruiting for a General Manager (This is great news for all you impatient souls like me).

For those interested in joining Zimmer do not miss the small print at the bottom of the advert (I nearly did) as Zimmer are accepting CV’s for other leadership positions across the Business functions – Manufacturing Manager, Quality Manager, Engineering Manager, HR Manager and Finance Manager.Other professional jobs will be posted on website from Spring 2008.

Like most start-ups there is quite a bit of competition so ensure that your CV makes an impact and gets you called for interview. You will find some interesting CV information that could help on the following site CV4jobs.

Super Tuesday for shannon with 250 new jobs created by Zimmer

Tuesday, February 5th, 2008

It was a Super Tuesday in the US an in Ireland today. US Medical Device manufacturer Zimmer announced an investment of 50m Euro in Shannon creating 250 jobs. This is great news for the region and the withering manufacturing sector.

Zimmer lends its name to the well know product the Zimmer Frame which is defined as a tool for people who need additional support to maintain balance or stability. Its a bit weird that Zimmer is now a tool for a country that needs additional support to maintain balance and stability. Zimmer offers a reversal to the trend on manufacturing relocation and redundancy.

I suppose we have to give credit to the IDA, government and all those involved. They get it in the neck when things go bad (which is regular at the moment) so it is only right to acknowledge this success.

This news signals a busy time for jobseekers in the region. Get busy working on your CV and interview preparation.
