<p>BSB today marked the launch of its Irish subsidiary which will create 20 new jobs. The Financial software firm hope to tap into the lucrative life insurance sector. After Ireland the company hopes to target UK, Isle of Man and Channel Islands.</p>
<p>Tánaiste and Minister for Enterprise Trade and Employment Mary Coughlan said: &#8220;BSB&#8217;s decision to base its operations in Ireland will not only create jobs in the short term, but reinforces Ireland&#8217;s competitive reputation in the broader market.&#8221;</p>

<p>More IT Software Jobs on the way for Dublin. Accuris will invest EUR1.5 million in R&#038;D and will create 27 new high-value software jobs over the next three years. This development is another enterprise ireland backed initiative.</p>
<p>Accuris develops roaming and convergence solutions to telecoms operators worldwide and currently has a team of 51 people across its offices in Dublin, Malaysia and the US. </p>
<p>The new announcement was part of a greater 4 year strategy by EI to develop the software sector in Ireland.</p>

<p>Dark clouds seem to be hovering over Ireland’s economy – there have been a few negative announcements in the construction sector particularly suppliers to the sector both construction supplies and financial services. Since it is Friday let’s concentrate on some positive news. There have been some new job announcements. I admit they are not big numbers but they all count.</p>
<p><strong>AGS Software</strong></p>
<p><em>ASG Software Solutions</em> has opened announced the creation of 10 new jobs at a new office in Dublin as it aims to target the Irish market. The new jobs will be created over the next year and the positions will be created in sales and engineering. AGS is based in Florida and has 90 offices globally including a R&#038;D facility in NI.</p>
<p><strong>Travel Logic</strong></p>
<p>Irish company <em>Travel Logic</em> will employ an additional 4 staff due to continued growth. The Sligo based travel software firm develops marketing software for the Travel industry. The new positions will be created in sales and software development</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><strong>Siemens</strong> has announced that it will be <strong>cutting 7000 jobs across the globe </strong>as it transitions as a company from hardware provider to a software/solutions provider.</p>
<p>There is good news for Irish worker as their jobs will be safe. <strong>Siemens</strong> employs about 1100 staff across 3 locations in Ireland Dublin, Belfast and Cork. The majority of these workers are employed in Dublin. </p>
<p><strong>Siemens</strong> businesses that are represented in Ireland include; Siemens Limited, Siemens Business Services, Siemens Research Ireland, Fujitsu Siemens Computers and Osram.</p>
<p><strong>Siemens</strong> reported revenue figures of 72.4 billion euro in 2007.  They employ a total of 460,000 staff in 190 countries around the world. Last time I looked share prices had increased in the company.</p>
